A recurring message from AQA examiner reports is that students gain the strongest marks when they answer the precise question, use specialist terminology accurately, apply knowledge rather than simply quoting a scenario, and keep research evidence focused on the argument being made. In the 2023 Attachment essay, for example, AQA praised effective application of the critical period and internal working model but noted that excessive description of studies could reduce the time available for discussion.
