Outline and explain two ways in which individuals may be socialised into gender identities.

What is expected in the answer?
Outline and explain means the student should identify two different ways in which socialisation can produce or reinforce gender identities and then develop each one. For 10 marks, two substantial paragraphs are normally enough. There is no need for an introduction or conclusion, and evaluation is not required.
The examiner reports specifically advise students to develop exactly two points rather than list several. In 2024, candidates who identified canalisation or media influence but did not fully develop the effect on the outcome being asked about were limited in the marks they could achieve.
