What is expected?
Outline requires students to identify a relevant reason and develop it sufficiently to show how it produces an age difference in victimisation. There are only four marks available, so students need two concise developed points, not an essay or named sociologists.
Award:
2 marks for each appropriate reason that is clearly outlined.
1 mark for each appropriate reason that is identified but only partly developed.
0 marks for no relevant material.
This follows the established 4-mark Paper 3 pattern of one mark for identifying a point and a second for developing it. Examiner reports specifically caution students against overwriting these questions.

Different routine activities (1 mark), for example some younger people may spend more time in public spaces or leisure settings where they have greater exposure to potential offenders (+1 mark).
