The highest-ranked university overall is not always the best university for the subject you want to study.
A university may be outside the national top 20 but have one of the strongest departments in the country for nursing, architecture, sport science, engineering or a creative subject. Equally, a university with an outstanding overall reputation may not offer the modules, placements or specialist facilities you need.
